VOX MEDIA HOUSE

Meet the Owner

My name is Jamilah Muhammad and I started Vox Media House as a one stop shop for all things media. Vox populi is Latin for “voice of the people” and is the inspiration for Vox Media House. As a current reporter I’ve seen the world of media evolve and change and have gained the knowledge and expertise to tell stories in a variety of ways.

After graduating with a degree in Communications from The Ohio State University, I’ve spent several years as a TV news reporter. Over time, I’ve gained the skills to tell different types of stories, whether that be working first hand with people, or localizing national and international conflict and topics. As I’ve honed in on my craft, I’ve became more fascinated with the different approaches to story telling and decided to go back to school and get my Masters of Communications from Ohio University. Through this extended education I have been able to focus on media tools and marketing as well as the role diversity, equity and inclusion plays in the media.

MULTIMEDIA JOURNALIST

As a multimedia journalist (MMJ) I am creative, highly technical, and ready to bring my community’s stories to life. I value accuracy and want to leverage my curiosity and storytelling abilities to share inspiring news across multiple platforms. Each day I work and navigate a fast paced, ever-changing work environment to tell new stories with fresh perspectives.

MEDIA RELATIONS & COMMUNICATIONS

I help established brands, organizations and nonprofits understand new and fresh ways to reach their audiences through different media content. I specialize in creating engaging, consistent and creative content that is on brand and that will help reach ultimate goals.

MASTERS OF COMMUNICATION

In Ohio University’s Masters of Communication program I’ve learned crisis communication skills, how to facilitate difficult conversations, how to use media tools to create different long and short form content and more.
